When Thomas first arrived at Thalia Gardens after being discharged from the hospital, he faced significant challenges. He required assistance with basic tasks like bed mobility, had difficulty walking, and needed frequent breaks during his dressing routine due to low endurance. It was clear that Thomas had a long road ahead of him, but he was ready to put in the work.

Impressive Progress: Health and Physical Abilities Improve
Over the course of his 7-week stay, Thomas made incredible strides in his health and physical abilities. He worked closely with our skilled therapists, and by the time it was time for him to go home, he had accomplished so much. Not only was he able to complete his dressing routine without assistance, but he also used a rollator to navigate around the facility with confidence. These were huge milestones, but the accomplishment that brought him the most pride was something even more significant: he was able to go up and down the stairs on his own!
Achieving the Ultimate Goal: Mastering the Stairs
While he initially required support from a few therapists during his first attempts, Thomas’s persistence and determination shone through. His focus and hard work paid off as he achieved his goal of mastering the stairs independently. This is a true testament to what can be achieved with dedication, the right support, and a positive mindset.
